Iain Gunn is the owner of Celtic Home Watch.  He was born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland and lived in the shadow of the Loch Ness monster.  This rich heritage is the underlying reason for the name “Celtic Home Watch”.

Iain comes with 25 years of property experience.  Starting as a maintenance technician, he advanced to the level of maintenance manager.  He moved into property management at the management level, culminating in the position of regional director over multiple properties for a large property development company with a large portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Iain understands what can happen to a vacant property and the need for checks to mitigate possible problems that could go months without the attention of a certified, accredited, and most importantly, responsible person.

Iain Gunn Fun Facts

Iain came to the United States 30 years ago and met his wife. The United States is home now, but he stays in contact with family living in Scotland.

Iain was born and grew up in the Highlands of Scotland about 15 miles from the infamous Loch Ness monster. At 18 years of age, he enlisted in the Scots Guards, then returned to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, where he lived and worked.

As a boy, he was surrounded by music, with his mother singing and his father playing the fiddle in a dance band. With music always being played in their home, it was only natural that he should follow in their footsteps. On returning to Edinburgh after serving in the army, he worked during the day on the administration staff of a large attorney’s office.  In the evenings he managed a large cabaret show in one of the 5-star hotels where they served Scottish cuisine. The show was comprised of a 5 piece band, 4 dancers, a bagpipe player, a female singer, and Iain as host and soloist; they performed six nights a week from April through October.  As time went on, Iain found himself drawn into performing full-time.  He left the law firm and teamed up with a solo musician; very soon they were performing in North America. Initially, they did 4 shows in Ontario, one of which was the Fergus Highland Games. From there, their notoriety spread, taking them to the Middle East, where they entertained expat Scots in the oil business, then undertook a five-week tour of New Zealand comprised of 26 shows before returning to Canada. A 5-week tour from Winnipeg, Alberta to Nova Scotia finished out the year. In 1989, they were offered their first recording contract, followed by an invitation to perform at a  Silver Jubilee celebration attended by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. In 1992 they produced a second CD done live in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
